1. Remove the filter element
Before cleaning the automobile air filter, open the filter lock, remove the nut fixing the filter element, remove the protective cover and pull out the filter element.Then remove the filter element to prevent impurities from falling into the carburetor.Wipe the inside and outside of the air filter shell with a rag and gasoline.Starting from the inside of the filter element, the dust on the inside and outside surfaces of the filter element is blown evenly up and down along the diagonal direction.If no compressed air is available, tap the filter gently with the screwdriver handle and brush away any external dirt with a bristle brush.
2. Clean the filter element
Light the lamp into the filter element, and from the outside look for damage, holes or thinning parts, check the rubber gasket for damage.In case of any abnormality, the filter element and washer should be replaced.
3. Replace the filter element
According to the provisions of the models, appropriate replacement.When replacing the filter element, check whether the new filter element is damaged or not, whether the gasket is defective, find defects, should be matched.
4. Install the filter
After the core is cleaned, install the components in the reverse order.The filter element must be installed reliably. It is not suitable to touch the paper part of the filter element with hands or utensils. In particular, the filter element should not be contaminated by oil.
